Sharon’s interest in colour, materials and multi-disciplinary approach is reflected in the current site-specific commission she is working on. The Sanctuary is a multi-faith space which replaces the historic Chapel of Rest at the Royal County Hospital in Brighton.
Sharon is collaborating with industry fabricators, manufacturers, an artist photographer, Laing O’Rourke, BDP Architects and arts and health consultants, Willis Newson.
Sharon has designed bespoke textiles fused in glass, a large-scale ‘memories, thoughts and messages’ wall for people to place messages, a tranquil textile lightbox and alcove seating. The opening is planned for Summer 2022.
